SATELLINE RADIO MODEMS
400-470 and 868-870 MHz, 300 to 19200 B/S half-duplex
SATELLINE radio modems constitute a homogeneous range of products making it possible to fulfil in a perfectly adapted way
each need for wireless communications.
- Communication networks between industrial automats or stations of measurements
- GPS data transmissions.
- Management of fleets of mobiles.
- Real time communication networks for carriages, transtorers, crane anti-collision systems
- Radio networks for telecontrol of drainage or water distribution, etc...
SATELLINE radio modems are type approved in most European countries and elsewhere.
Our sales department is at your disposal to communicate to you the conditions of use of the modems in each country.
The SATELLINE range of products:
- 1870 : Economic modem functioning in band 868 to 870 MHz (license free).
Intended for the applications of short ranges, it provides a real data rate of 9600 b/s on asynchronous serial port RS232.
- 2AS-C : This is a bidirectional radio modem, 16 channels, with a transmission speed from 300 to 4800 b/s.
The transmit power can reach 1W. This modem is compatible with old modems of the 1AS range (delivered between the years 1985 and 1995),
whose manufacture is stopped.
- 2ASxE : It supports a real data rate of 1200 to 9600 b/s. Its power is adjustable between 10mW and 1W.
This model offers possibilities of addressing, channels switching, and cover extension using repetition functions.
It is configurable by integrated menu or a command set. It also has integrated functions to test the radio links.
- 3AS : This is the fastest radio modem of the range. There are two versions, one in the frequency band 400 to 470 MHz
and one in band 868 to 870 MHz: for this reason it can be used on license free channels as well as on radio channels subjected to license.
In the context of 25kHz and 12kHz channel spacing, it provides a real data rate of 19200 b/s and 9600 b/s respectively.
A protocol of autocorrection makes it possible to increase the performances of the modem.
It has several RS232, RS485 and RS422 interfaces.
It offers possibilities of cover extension using repetition functions and automatic routing of data packages which are adapted as well
to the fixed communication as to mobile networks.
- 3AS Epic : This is another version of the 3AS radio modem with a transmission power of 10W.
It integrates a double receiver allowing for ranges even larger when used in diversity mode.

*Clear radio paths: suburban areas, wide spread factory site, rural zone...
*High spots: pylon, water tower, roof of building (at least one of the two points of connexion)...
The ranges indicated above take account of an additional margin (approximately 25 dB) to guarantee a correct transmission.
They correspond to distances frequently observed in industrial environments.

To select your SATELLINE radio modem:
|
Advantages |
Disadvantages |
1870
5 mW-100 mW radio modem, 9600 b/s, 868-870 MHz RS232 interface
|
Economic (small price)
Adapted to the not very constraining applications where the cost of a 3AS radio modem is not justified
Low power consumption and size
Cover extension per repetition and routing of the data packets
|
Sensitivity lower than the other products of the range: - 104 dBm
Requires an environment with no or few interferences and clear radio paths as much as possible
Probability of interferences between networks stronger than with the other products of the range
Usable only on license free radio channels between 868 and 870 MHz
|
3AS
10mW-1W radio modem, 1200-19200 b/s, 380-470 or 868-870 MHz, RS232,422,485 interfaces
|
Great sensitivity: - 113 dBm (good additional margin for the radio connexions)
Usable on channels subjected to license in the 400-470 MHz band, and on license free channels in the 868-870 MHz band
Possibility of change of the frequency bands (868-870 MHz or 400-470 MHz)
Possibility of use with remote antennas using a coaxial cable (on channels subjected to license)
Powerful even in environments with interferences (industry, roads, cities…) thanks to a very high selectivity which
makes it possible to have several different applications running in the same place
Many functionalities of addressing, routing, and network topology
Using channels subjected to license reduce the risk of interferences
|
