The Dual-Band transceiver has two frequency bands of 2 MHz, tuned at the factory with a maximum separation of 15 MHz between the highest and the lowest frequencies. The radio modem can be reprogrammed to operate on a channel within these two bands.
The dual receiver function with connection of two antennas makes it possible to address the problems of diversity (attenuation of the reception signal related to the recombination of the reflected waves). The modem always chooses the signal of better quality. This phenomenon is particularly important in moving situations of mobile equipment. This function improves the reception quality and increases the radio coverage.
The SATELLINE 3AS-Epic DB is equipped with a radio transceiver whose main characteristics are :

- Adjustable radio frequency (TX, RX or TX / RX) by software, SL commands and list of predefined channels
- Channel spacing fixed at 12.5, 20 or 25 kHz

- Power supply : +11.8…+30 VDC
- Radio speed up to 19200 bits/s
The radio modem is configured using a PC, using a standard terminal or the SATEL configuration manager. LEDs provide real-time status for rapid analysis and diagnosis of data exchanges.
The SATELLINE 3ASd-Epic DB version has an LCD screen and push buttons to facilitate its configuration without any other equipment. It becomes a very useful tool for the evaluation and qualification of radio links with the measurement of the radio field level in reception and the level of radio noise in the channel.
The SATEL SATELLINE 3AS-Epic DB modem includes advanced addressing, repetition and routing features. It is possible to simply create networks in bus, star or extended topology. Automatic routing offers an overhop function that is particularly useful for managing mobile devices.
Error rates are minimized by FEC (Forward Error Correction).
SATELLINE 3AS-Epic DB modems are compatible with SATELLINE series modems (including 3AS) and with SATEL radio modules.
